Any individual, legal entity, national or international organization operating businesses including services, import, and sale of all kinds of electricity meters in Lao PDR. They shall have the certificate of registration as well as the certificate of inspection issued by the Department of Standardization and Measurement before the operation. Apply at Department of Standardization and Metrology (021 ;).

- The applicant shall be any individual, legal entity, national, or international organization that acquires the business operating license in accordance with the laws of Lao PDR.

- The certificate of electricity meter inspection is valid for 2 years, then it needs a new inspection conducted by the Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
Additional comment
- The Department of Standardization and Measurement is responsible for issuing the certificate of registration and inspection of new electricity meters. - The Provincial Department of Science and Technology together with the Provincial Department of Electricity is responsible for conducting the inspection of electricity meters after 2 years of its set up.
