Abstract
A problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide method of artificially cultivating poria sclerotium which no longer causes contamination of the poria sclerotium with sawdust in the cultivation process and which is able to efficiently produce superior quality poria sclerotium. The artificial cultivation method which has solved the problem includes the following steps (1) to (4): (1) inoculating apawn of wolfiporia cocos Ryvarden et Gilbertson into a fungal bed which contains sawdust as a base material and an ammonium salt; (2) culturing the spawn of Wolfiporia cocos Ryvarden et Gilbertson to form a hyphal mat thereof on the surface of the fungal bed; (3) inoculating starter poria sclerotium onto the formed hyphal mat; (4) enlarging the inoculated starter poria sclerotuim.
